The distinct grain and weathering is clearly visible. The timber was preserved by the use of lead paint, which, once stripped back, revealed the virtually untouched over 100 year old timber. Being from the Eucalyptus family the Yellowbox displays vibrant contrasting colours that differ in each plank.
Another variety of Yellowbox was sourced from the Casterton Woolyards in South Western Victoria. Due to its previous exposure to the harsh elements and lanolin its grain is much darker than you would find in other varieties. |
